What is it?
If you are familiar with Spivi, you will have already experienced the mind-blowing animation, the live performance stats, and the exciting in-class challenges. Spivi transcends the indoor cycling experience, and now… it’s available for everyone at home!
The Spivi Home software will allow you to connect to your favorite studio’s live workout sessions from the comfort of your own home. Once configured, your live stats will appear alongside the riders’ stats in the studio.
How does it work?
For studios that have the Spivi Home Service enabled, their classes will automatically be broadcast and available online via the Spivi Home software for home users to connect to.
Home users can then join any workout session from participating studios all around the world.
When a home user connects to the workout session from their home, their avatar will appear on the road, and their stats will be seen on the studio’s leaderboards in real-time.
Home users will be able to see and hear the instructor, along with their music, through the Spivi Home software.
Which bikes are compatible?
The following indoor cycling set ups will work with Spivi Home:
- Indoor bikes with built-in sensors (ANT+/BLE) – Precor Spinner Chrono Power, Keiser M3i, etc.
- Indoor bikes with add-on sensors (ANT+/BLE) – Cadence Sensors, Heart Rate Monitors, Power Meters, etc.
- Smart Trainers – Must be compatible with ANT+ or BLE.
- Bikes without sensors – Although you will not be able to see your live performance data, participate in any challenges, or see your avatar on the screen, you will still be able to view the class and participate off-screen.
Which device should I use?
You can install the software on either a Mac/Windows PC, iPad/Android tablet, or a smartphone.
First, you should check which method of connectivity works best for your bike/sensors. Some setups may require you to purchase a BLE USB dongle, for example the Keiser M3i bike.
Bluetooth compatible bikes will pair easily with an iPad, Android tablet, smartphone or a Mac PC, as these devices have native Bluetooth support. However, you will need to purchase a BLE USB dongle if you plan to use a Windows PC.
Methods of Connectivity:
- Bluetooth without a BLE USB dongle: Pair your Bluetooth compatible fitness equipment using a Mac PC, iPad/Android tablet, or smartphone, using the device’s native Bluetooth support.
- Bluetooth with a BLE USB dongle: Pair your Bluetooth compatible fitness equipment using a Windows PC.
- ANT+ with an ANT+ USB dongle: Pair your ANT+ compatible fitness equipment using a Mac or Windows PC.
- ANT+ with a CABLE device: Pair your ANT+ compatible fitness equipment using a iPad/Android tablet or smartphone.
How do I pair my fitness equipment with my device?
Pairing your fitness equipment with the Spivi software is easy and is normally a one time process. Once paired, you will be able to see your live performance data (cadence, watts, etc.) on the screen during a workout.
To pair your fitness equipment with Spivi, your equipment must be transmitting data – that means if you are pairing a bike, you have to start pedaling… If you are pairing a Heart Rate monitor, then you will have to turn the Heart Rate monitor on and wear it.
Once the sensor is active, open the Spivi software and click on the three horizontal lines on the bottom right corner of the screen.
New icons will appear across the bottom of the screen. Click on the Pairing icon to access the pairing screen.
A list of all compatible Bluetooth/ANT+ devices that have been found by the software will appear on the screen. Click on the device that you would like to pair, then click PAIR to complete the process.
You can pair multiple devices to the Spivi software, such as a bike as well as a Heart Rate monitor. You’ll notice that your stats will begin to change as the software reads your live performance data from your device.
