Lactate Threshold Heart Rate (LTHR) is the maximum average heart rate that a one can sustain during a 60-minute time trial. During this tests member should aim to their maximum possible heart rate.
To run LTHR test during a class follow these steps:
Step 1: Press the Start Button on your controller to display the in-game Menu.
Step 2: Use the Directional Pad to select the Challenges Menu > Fitness Tests > LTHR Test.
Confirm each option with the Start button.
Step 3: Select the desired LTHR test and press on the Start button to run it.
Spivi offers multiple versions of LTHR test:
3 minutes test: This short version of LTHR test is good for a beginner’s class. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 80% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 160
5 minutes test: This version of LTHR test is also good for a beginner’s class. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 85% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 170
8 minutes test: This version on LTHR test is more suitable for participants who are fit. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 90% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 180
20 minutes test: This version on LTHR test is more suitable for professional trainees. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 95% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 190.
Note: At any given time you can end a test by clicking the back button.
During the test the following attributes are displayed on the results leaderboard:
- User Information: Seat Number, Profile Picture, and Display Name.
- Current computed LTHR value.
- Average BPM since the beginning of the test.
- Instantaneous BPM.
The remaining time for the test will be displayed on the top right corner.
Step 4: Select the Performance View icon from the in-game menu to show or hide the live results during the test.
Step 5: During the test, the system computes the average heart rate output in BPM units. This average will be used at the end of the test to determine the LTHR value of each member.
Step 6: When the test is finished, LTHR result will be applied immediately to each member. The %LTHR displayed on the LTHR View (available only on Spivi Arena) will be updated and computed based on the member’s new LTHR value.
When class ends, the system will upload the results to the cloud and the LTHR value of each member will be updated on his Spivi profile accordingly. The updated LTHR value of each member will be used until another LTHR test will be performed or a member will manually edit it.
