Workout Program Points (WPP) is a proprietary metric developed by Spivi to encourage members to train in alignment with structured workout goals—not simply at maximum effort.
How WPP Is Calculated
WPP is computed based on the virtual effort offset from the current workout program goals. In simpler terms, the system evaluates how closely a member’s actual performance aligns with the target goals defined by the running workout program.
This calculation is not strictly tied to the visual Riding Zone, which is based on fixed distance metrics. Instead, WPP uses a more dynamic and relative effort model, providing a more accurate reflection of how well a member follows the workout intent.
Earning WPP
For every minute a member trains in a way that aligns with the workout program’s goals, they earn 1 WPP. For example, if a member stays within the target effort range for 30 minutes of a session, they’ll receive 30 WPP.
Instructor Tools
To help members stay on track, instructors can use:
-
The Performance Dashboard, which shows live effort data relative to the workout goals.
-
The Riding Zone, which still provides helpful visuals—but remember, it's a general guide, not a direct representation of WPP calculation.
Why WPP Matters
Unlike metrics that reward pure intensity, WPP encourages goal-oriented, sustainable training. It’s especially valuable in:
-
Leaderboards, where WPP can be a main ranking metric.
-
Fitness challenges, where WPP motivates consistency and program adherence.
-
Long-term fitness progression, as it promotes training smarter, not just harder.
