Now just before we begin, please be sure you have tried the following:
- Disconnect your ANT+/BLE dongle from your device, then reconnect it.
- Restart Spivi, and unpair/pair your fitness equipment.
- Close any apps that might be paired to your sensor.
Physical distance: Your ANT+/BLE dongles have a limited distance in which they are able to operate without signal loss.
- Move your fitness equipment closer to the ANT+/BLE dongle.
- A USB extension cable can also be used to position your dongles closer to your fitness equipment.
Physical barriers: Any object or wall that blocks line of sight from your fitness equipment’s sensors to your ANT+/BLE dongles can cause signal loss.
- Try to position your ANT+/BLE dongles in such a way that there are no physical objects/walls that block line of sight with your fitness equipment.
Wireless signal interference: Some devices transmit wireless signals or electromagnetic fields that can cause wireless signal interference.
- Position your ANT+/BLE dongles far away from devices that transmit wireless signals or electromagnetic fields
- Some examples of devices that transmit wireless signals or electromagnetic fields include:
• Bluetooth headphones, speakers, or hearing aids
• WiFi router
• Microwaves
• Fans
• Direct Satellite Services
• Cordless telephones
• Wireless video transmitters (Chromecast, AirPlay, Fire TV Stick, etc.)
• Wireless speakers
• Unshielded cables
• Any devices that use a cable to connect to a computer or power source
• Any devices that transmit a wireless signal
Low sensor battery: Some fitness equipment’s sensors require batteries to operate.
- If your device requires batteries, try replacing the batteries with fresh ones.
Dysfunctional sensor: If the above troubleshooting steps did not fix the issue, you may need to replace your ANT+/BLE dongles.
- Make sure your fitness sensor is functional.
• For a Bluetooth sensor, open your Bluetooth settings and search for Bluetooth devices. If your sensor doesn’t appear, there’s an issue with the sensor or it’s paired to something else.
• For an ANT+ sensor, open any 3rd party app that can read ANT+ sensor data, and pair your sensor. If your sensor doesn’t appear, there’s an issue with the sensor.
Unavailable dongle: Your ANT+/BLE dongles can only be used by one software at a time.
- Exit any other software besides Spivi that may be hijacking your ANT+/BLE dongle.
- Disconnect and reconnect your ANT+/BLE dongle and restart the Spivi software.
Loose dongle: It’s possible that your ANT+/BLE dongles are not securely connected to the USB port.
- Disconnect and reconnect your ANT+/BLE dongles.
- Make sure your ANT+ dongle is firmly plugged in.
Insufficient dongle power: Although ANT+ dongles work best with 500mA of current, some USB ports only supply 100mA.
- Try switching your ANT+BLE dongles to a different USB port, or use a powered USB hub.
Dysfunctional dongle: If the above troubleshooting steps did not fix the issue, you may need to replace your ANT+/BLE dongles.
- If after replacing your dongles you still experience issues, you may need to contact your fitness equipment manufacturer, as its likely that your fitness equipment’s sensors may be the cause.
