We are excited to have you onboard! The steps below will help you get ready to start training with Spivi in your classes.
Now, just before we get started:
- Visit the “My Studio” Page on the Spivi Website. Once you’re logged-in with your instructor account, this page will be available to you.
- Install the Spivi Mobile app. As an instructor, it allows you to use some advanced options.
- Join Our Official Facebook Group for Instructors, you can get tips about using Spivi features and share your thoughts and ideas.
This document is a basic guide for Spivi® Studio operation. It provides information about the basic functional needs in order to start using the system.
The Controller
Use the supplied wireless controller to control the system.
Launch the System
Once the system is turned on, the Spivi® loading screen will be shown.
Press and hold the Guide button to turn the controller on. A steady white light will indicate that it is on and ready to control the system.
Main Menu
- System Settings:
This option is used to change the Graphics, Audio volumes, and the language of the system. You can also enter Maintenance Mode to pair or unpair bikes. - Leaderboard:
This option is used to only display the performance leader boards (max hr, cadence, power, leaderboard, etc.) - Fireballs / Plasma / Starfield:
These options will display an animated background in conjunction with display the performance leader boards (max hr, cadence, power, leaderboard, etc.) - Media Player:
This option allows the user to play their own audio/video files from their removable USB drive during a workout. - Induro Cycling / Spinng Digital:
These options are available with a subscription. They enable prerecorded cycling videos to be used in conjunction with your workout. - Velodrome, Ko Samui, etc:
The rest of these options are the free scenery selections you can choose from. Unless you have subscribed to Induro Cycling/Spinning Digital, most of your workouts should be run using these scenes. The system will display the avatars cycling in the virtual world.
Start a Class
When you are ready to start a class, highlight one of the workout scenes using the Directional Pad and press the Start button to load it.
Note:
To learn how to create a scheduled class in advance, please click on Post a Single Event and Edit the Spivi Scheduler.
Once you have a track loaded on the screen, members are able to log in using the Spivi mobile app.
If you use the Spivi® Scheduler, MINDBODY, LiveEdit, Mariana Tek, Gymmaster, VirtuaGym, ASF, ABC, Wellness Living, Momence, or Zingfit this will happen automatically and you will be able to view the participants on screen.
Workout Operation Mode
Once the loading phase ends, the participants’ view will be displayed and all the members who registered to the class will be shown. When you’re ready to begin, select the workout operation mode icon, and press the start button to view the list of workouts. Highlight the workout you would like to run, and press the start button once again to confirm.
CUSTOM WORKOUT MODE VS. STRUCTURED WORKOUT MODE
Custom workout mode is used when the instructor plans to control the class in real-time. They can run challenges, display the different leaderboards, etc.
To select custom workout mode, select the None option. Please skip to the Custom workout mode section to learn more.
Structured workout mode is used when the instructor has already created and uploaded their own personal structured workout to their club. When you create a structured workout, you can import your own music and video files to be played during the workout. To create your own structured workout, you will need to download the Workout Creator Tool.
Virtual Instructors
After you have selected your workout mode, highlight the Virtual Instructors icon and press the start button to view the list of available instructors. Highlight the virtual instructor you would like to use, and press the start button once again to confirm. If you do not want to use a virtual instructor, select the NONE option. Virtual instructors will only work if you've selected a structured workout.
Virtual DJ
Highlight the Virtual DJ icon and press the start button to view the list of available DJs. Highlight the genre you would like to use, and press the start button once again to confirm. If you do not want to use a virtual DJ, select the NONE option.
When you are ready, highlight the Rocket icon and press the start button to proceed.
In Game Menu
Press the Start button any time during the class to toggle the In Game Menu.

Changing the View
Press the Right Bumper any time during the class to toggle the Riding Zone.
Press the Left Bumper any time during the class to toggle the First Person view.
The Riding Zone helps you guide your members visually. The two dotted lines clearly show the goals. Members can easily see the workout goals and bring themselves to the desired workout zone.
The Riding Zone is calculated through the instructor’s real-time performance, determined by FTP, or Functional Threshold Power. If there is no instructor present, the workout goals will be calculated based on the group’s average.
The Riding Zone rewards members 1 WPP (Workout Program Point) for every minute they are inside the two dotted lines. This helps motivate members to workout according to the goals.
Leaderboard View – custom attributes
Press the Green (A) button to display the Leaderboard. Press it once again to hide it.
Power View: %FTP, WATT, SEPs
Press the Blue (X) button to display the Power View. Press it once again to hide it.
Cadence View: RPM, SEPs
Press the Red (B) button to display the Cadence View. Press it once again to hide it.
Performance Dashboard
Press the Yellow (Y) button to display the Performance Dashboard. Press the yellow button once again to hide it.
Lactate Threshold Heart Rate View: %LTHR, BPM, SEPs
Press the Start Button to access the in-game menu.
Select the Performance View icon.
Next, select the LTHR icon to display the LTHR view.
Max HR View: %MHR, BPM, SEPs
Press the Start Button to access the in-game menu.
Select the Performance View icon.
Next, select the MaxHR icon to display the Max HR view.
Challenges
Press the Start Button to access the in-game menu.
Select the Challenges icon.
Use the Directional Pad to select the appropriate challenge and press the Start button to confirm.
During a Challenge:
Press the Start button and select the active challenge to show or hide the live results.
Press the Back button to cancel the currently running challenge.

Change the Speed
Use the Right Stick to control the speed. Move it up to speed up and pull it down to slow down.
Lighting (time of day) Change
Move the Right Stick to the left or right to change the time of day.
You can simulate a night ride or morning ride by adjusting the time of day.
Dynamic Road Feature
Move the Left Stick up or down to create an uphill or downhill slope.
It works best when you match the speed of the pace with the hill you’ve created.
Intensity Level
Move the Left Stick to the left or right to simulate road intensity, such as mud and sticks.
Screen Saver Mode
Press and hold the Left Bumper for 2 seconds to activate the screen saver.
Press the Back button to exit the screen saver.
Workout Element Targets
During a structured workout, the current workout element targets bar is displayed at the top of the screen.
Intensity Zone Graph
The Intensity Zone Graph will be constantly displayed on the top of the screen during a structured workout.

Selecting this icon in the in-game menu will toggle the intensity zone graph on/off. If applied, the intensity zone graph will be displayed alongside the workout elements.
Finish a Class
Press the Back button to finish a class. The system will ask you to confirm this step. Once you quit the session, the class summary report will be displayed, followed by the awards ceremony. The Cool Down phase will then be displayed.
Be sure to always finish a class using this method. Otherwise, your members’ stats will continue to record and will no longer be accurate. Once a class has been terminated, your members will automatically receive their performance summary via email.
Periodically, Spivi® receives automatic updates while the Main Menu screen is displayed. So, it’s important to leave the system on at all times, 24/7.
Spivi Home & Replay
For studios that have the Spivi Home Service enabled, their classes will automatically be broadcast and available online via the Spivi Home software for home users to connect to.
Home users can then join any workout session from participating studios all around the world.
When a home user connects to the workout session from their home, their avatar will appear on the screen, and their stats will be seen on the studio’s leaderboards in real-time.
Home users will be able to see and hear the instructor, along with their music, through the Spivi Home software.
