The Workout Creator is a simple yet powerful tool built into the Spivi.Home software that allows you to create structured workouts based on your class profiles, upload them to your Spivi account on the Spivi®cloud, share them with other instructors in your facility, and play your uploaded workouts using a Spivi® system in class.
Your structured workouts can also be played and used to run classes guided by virtual instructors using Spivi® Studio and Spivi® 365.
Prerequisites:
- Your Spivi account must be set up as an Instructor in order to upload your structured workouts to your Spivi system.
Download and install the workout creator tool
Click on one of the icons below to download the Spivi.Home software.
Launching the workout creator
Once you have installed the Spivi.Home software, log into your Spivi account, then navigate to the Creator option by clicking the " ... " located on the bottom right side of the screen.
Then, select the type of workout that you'd like to create:
- Spivi Studio, Spivi Metrix, and Spivi 365 systems:
- Select one of the top 3 indoor cycling workouts (RPE, Max HR, or FTP)
- Spivi Arena systems:
- Select one of the bottom 2 HIIT workouts (RPE, or Max HR)
Adding workout elements
To add a workout element, simply click on one of the available options at the top of the screen.
Z1 through Z5 corresponds to zone 1 through zone 5, while the Water Bottle icon should be used as an active recovery section.
Next, click on the newly created workout element to edit the properties. For example, the duration, the zone, the target goals, etc.
You can also click and drag the sides or the top of the workout element, to alter the duration, or the zone of the element.
To edit the name of the workout block, click on the name of the block, then edit the Name field at the top of the screen.
Note: You can use the bottom left menu options to copy, paste, and delete workout elements, or undo your most recent actions.
Group/ungrouping workout elements
Using the bottom right menu options, you can group or ungroup workout elements from the selected workout blocks.
To group two or more workout elements together, highlight the workout elements then click on the Group button.
To ungroup a group of workout elements, click on the name of the group (underneath the workout element), then click the Ungroup button.
Zooming in/out of workout preview
To zoom in and out of the workout preview screen, use the slider that is located on the right side of the screen.
Splitting/Merging workout elements
If you'd like to split a workout element into two different sections, position the top slider within the workout element you'd like to split, then click the Split icon.
If you want to merge two adjacent workout elements, highlight the two elements, then click the Merge icon.
Adding events to your workout
You can preprogram events to occur at specific times, such as displaying a note on the screen, displaying a specific performance view, or starting an in-class challenge
To create an event, position the top slider at the position you would like the event to occur, then click on the Yellow Stop Watch icon.
Click on the Type property, then select a specific event:
- Notes: Displays a note on the screen
- Workout Graph: Displays the workout graph on the screen
- Leaderboard: Displays the leaderboard view
- Power View: Displays the Power color coded view
- Cadence View: Displays the Cadence color coded view
- HeartRate View: Displays the Max HR color coded view
- Dashboard View: Displays the Performance dashboard view
- Challenge: Initiates a challenge to start
Click on the Parameters property to add your note, or to select a specific challenge.
Note: The Parameters property will only appear if you selected Notes or Challenge in the Type property.
Adding music to your workout
By linking your Dropbox or Spotify Premium account to your Spivi account, you can add your own music to your workout.
To link your Dropbox or Spotify Premium account to your Spivi account, log into spivi.com using a web browser, then click on your Account name at the top of the page to access your Account & Settings page.
- Use the Click to Link option, underneath the Dropbox/Spotify sections to link your account with Spivi. This will redirect you to Dropbox/Spotify's website.
- Log into your Dropbox/Spotify account to finish the process.
Dropbox Integration:
If you plan to use Dropbox, be sure to add your media files in the Dropbox > Apps > Spivi folder.
With this integration, your media files will be played directly from your Spivi system. Be sure to connect your speaker system to the speaker port on the back of the Spivi system using a 3.5mm auxiliary cable.
Spotify Premium Integration:
In order to use Spotify, you must have an active Spotify Premium account.
With this integration, your media files will be played on one of your devices that has Spotify running on it.
- To begin, create a playlist on Spotify with all of the songs that you want to add to your workout.
- Make sure that you are logged into your Spotify account, and that Spotify is opened on at least one of your devices. This can be your phone, or your computer.
Once you have linked either your Dropbox or Spotify Premium account to your Spivi account, click on the green Music icon to begin adding songs to your workout.
Then, click the songs you'd like to add (in order). Click the Confirm button once you are finished.
Adding video to your workout
By linking your Dropbox account to your Spivi account, you can add your own video files to your workout.
To link your Dropbox account to your Spivi account, log into spivi.com using a web browser, then click on your Account name at the top of the page to access your Account & Settings page.
- Use the Click to Link option, underneath the Dropbox section to link your account with Spivi. This will redirect you to Dropbox's website.
- Log into your Dropboxaccount to finish the process.
Be sure to add your media files in the Dropbox > Apps > Spivi folder.
With this integration, your video files will be played in the background of your workout.
Once you have linked your Dropbox account to your Spivi account, click on the red Video icon to begin adding videos to your workout.
Then, click the videos you'd like to add (in order). Click the Confirm button once you are finished.
Saving your workout
Once you've finished creating your workout, click the Save icon on the top right side of the screen, and fill in the remaining fields.
Accessibility Options:
- Private: If you select Private, then this workout will only be available to you. You must be logged into spot 99 during your workout in order for this workout to become visible on the list of structured workouts within the Spivi Studio/Arena software.
- Clubs: If you select Clubs, then this workout will become available to all of the clubs in which you are set as an instructor to. You do not have to be logged into spot 99. The workout will be visible for any instructor to use on the list of structured workouts within the Spivi Studio/Arena software
- Public: If you select Public, then this workout will become available for anyone to use, regardless if you are a part of their club or not. You can download public structured workouts from the Community STW section of spivi.com
Editing, deleting, or previewing your workout
To edit, delete, or preview your workout, navigate to the Solo section of Spivi.Home.
- Click on the Collection name that your workout was saved under (My First Collection)
- Click the Search option
- Then, click on your workout
- To preview your workout, click on the Play button.
- To edit your workout, click on the " ... " option, then click the Pencil icon
- To delete your workout, click on the " ..." option, then click the Delete icon.
Playing Third Party Content
If you plan to incorporate videos into your workout, it is highly recommended that you set it’s start time to be at least 10-15 seconds into the workout instead of having it start from the beginning. This period of 10-15 seconds will allow the system internals enough time to buffer the first frames and create a smooth playback experience.
